A Happy Fourth

by Jenny on July 4, 2012

I hope everyone has a very happy 4th of July planned today! I know I do…sun, the pool, good friends and sushi. Don’t think it could get much better than that!

Workout

I wanted to get my day underway as early as possible this morning so I was at the gym, ready and waiting, when it opened on its holiday schedule at 7:00 a.m. I spent a quick 20 minutes on a treadmill doing a tabata workout of sprints and then headed to the yoga studio for 60 minutes of Vinyasa.

In case you are curious, my tabata workout looked like this:

1 minute – 6.0 mph
20 seconds – 9.0 mph
10 seconds – rest
(Repeat 30 seconds circuits 8 total times through)

1 minute – 6.0 mph
20 seconds – 9.5 mph
10 seconds – rest
(Repeat 30 seconds circuits 8 total times through)

1 minute – 6.0 mph
20 seconds – 10.0 mph
10 seconds – rest
(Repeat 30 seconds circuits 8 total times through)

1 minute – 6.0 mph
20 seconds – 9.0 mph
10 seconds – rest
20 seconds – 9.5 mph
10 seconds – rest
20 seconds – 10.0 mph
10 seconds – rest
20 seconds – 10.5 mph
10 seconds – rest

2 minute cool down – 4.0 mph

Definitely a hot and sweaty one!

Breakfast

Breakfast this morning was a breakfast taco with egg, ham and pepperjack cheese all sandwiched in a flour tortilla shell.

On the side I had a Chobani chocolate chunk yogurt.

Seriously love the chocolate shavings in this yogurt. It reminds me of my favorite chocolate chip ice cream from Baskin Robbins.

I’m gearing up now to head to the pool to hopefully get a tan!! Enjoy the day everyone!
