All About the Alternatives

by Jenny on March 23, 2011

Today’s lunch continued the Alternative Bagel trend.  I toasted a roasted onion bagel and topped it first with some cream cheese.

Spread with cream cheese

Followed by roasted red pepper…

Topped with roasted red peppers

And turkey…

Piled high with turkey

Turkey, cream cheese and roasted pepper on a bagel!

Bagel Sandwich

On the side I added baby carrots and some Special K Cracker Chips, sour cream and onion flavor.  It was my first time trying these and they aren’t bad.  Definitely not as good as Popchips, in my opinion, but still tasty.  I ended up adding some to my sandwich (as usual) for some added crunch and flavor.

Back to the office!  Grocery store and my basketball game tonight!  Then home to hopefully finish unpacking and settling back in to the apartment.

Hopefully you all are having better weather where you are than we are in here in Baltimore.  It’s just plain gross outside! :(

They are possibly my favorite kinds as well. Add so much extra flavor to whatever you are eating them with. Ahhh, jealous of that nice weather – wish I was still down there!

I love putting crunchy things in sandwiches! I always get weird looks, so I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who does it.

You are definitely not the only one out there!! A sandwich that isn’t crunchy isn’t good to me!!!

what do the alternative bagels taste like and how do they compare to regular bagels?

They taste like regular bagels to me. I really like them because they have more to them than the bagel thins. I eat bagels thins as well, and like them but the alternative bagels just seem more like real bagels to me. More to them!
