Cali Burrito
by Jenny on May 14, 2011
For lunch today Brian and I tried a new (to us) burrito place not far from his place.
He had heard from a friend that it was a great place for a burrito and with how obsessed this boy is with his burrito bowls, that meant he had to try it!

Once we were inside, we browsed the menu items that were all posted on chalk boards on the walls.

Brian and I both went with “Building our Own Rice Bowls”.
His Bowl:
- White Rice
- Grilled Chicken (which I had a bite of it and it was amazing)
- Black Beans
- Guac
- Cheese
My Bowl:
- Brown Rice
- Smoked Tofu
- Black Beans
- Guac
- Cheese

Both bowls came with a side of tortilla chips.

They had a small salsa bar that offered mild salsa, hot salsa, salsa verde and the special of the week salsa. This week’s was garlic basil bean salsa. I obviously had to sample some with my chips and it wasn’t bad – verrrry garlicky!

The inside decor of the restaurant was beachy/cali themed complete with a hut, Bob Marley and Endless Summer posters and surfboards hung on the walls.

Overall, we both really liked Cali Burrito. I believe Brian made the comment that they are going to be seeing him in there everyday from here on out. He’s not kidding either. I told you, the boy is serious about his burrito bowls!
Next time I want to try one of their named burritos as a rice bowl – maybe something with veggies, pork or even falafel!

Off for another night of baseball and then Brian and I are trying another new (to us) restaurant for dinner. Stay tuned for the review and recap tomorrow
