So I got some bad awful news this morning. I’ve been driving my Mom’s car for the past week+ as mine was making a lot of funny noises that I’m pretty sure cars are not supposed to make – not being a car expert I can’t be 100% sure. Anyhow, turned out my intuition was correct and my car did need work. Luckily my Dad’s mechanic was available to work on it and all seemed as if it was going to be right in my world again, car world that is.
WRONG!
I had made plans to exchange cars with my parents tonight and was super excited to have mine back. Driving a suburban through the city and parking it in a garage on a daily basis is not what I would label as the most fun experience ever. However, as I was about to head home for lunch I got a call from my Dad telling me (in a not so G-rated way) that my car was running like crap and that it would need to go back to the shop on Monday to be worked on again…dagger in my day!
To sum up the outcome of the conversation, this is basically the final shot for my car and if the unspeakable happens after this…its making a trip to the car cemetery. So sad…for numerous reason:
- I love my car.
- This means adding a car payment back into my budget. Car payments also = no fun.
Okay, so now that the glitch in my day is out of the way (I’m a poet and I didn’t even know it!) here’s what the lunch menu had to offer:
- 1/2 cooked chicken breast
- 1/4 cup cooked spinach
- 1 oz. goat cheese
- 1 oz. roasted red peppers
- 1 whole wheat tortilla
I combined the first four ingredients and put them on half of the tortilla…
…folded it over and put it in the ever famous panini maker. Delicious quesadilla in minutes! Kinda makes up for the whole car failure bit…
Grapes on the side were a must again today…they are just too good to pass up when I reach into the fridge!
Alright…time to hop in the boat suburban and get back to work! Then it’s the weekend…Wooohoooo
Any fun weekend plans for you all?

Okay this is HORRIBLE news. Your car CANNOT kick the bucket. I understand that it’s already had many a good road trips in it and that the gas mileage is not exactly green-friendly… buttttt that car is symbolic of good times. It’s the icon (note I didn’t say relic) of our post college years. Sigh.
I knowwww!!! My car is just part of the crew now…I’m going to be realllly sad if I have to get another one!
I just found your blog, can’t wait to read more! My car broke down about a month ago and I was in freakout mode!!! Hopefully everything works out for the best.
