Fitbloggin’ – The Facts

by Jenny on May 25, 2011

Monday morning I posted a recap of the fitness portion of Fitbloggin’ and today you are getting the facts from Friday afternoon!

After a morning full of exercise, it was time to settle in for two panels that were scheduled for the afternoon on Friday.  However, first there was obviously a little lunch action going on.

Lunch Platter

All of the meals that were offered at the conference were delicious and I couldn’t resist filling my plate with a little of everything that they had to offer.

I tried two different sandwiches, one with chicken and one veggies and then had spinach and beet salad, roasted veggies and fruit on the side.  I also tasted the soup they were offering, mushroom of some sort (?) and it was delicious!

Once we finished eating lunch, the Expo area opened and I took some time to visit the different sponsor booths before the afternoon panels began.

New Balance Shoes
New Balance gave shoes and running capris to every attendee!  And had free headphones at their sponsor booth.  So nice of them!
Love it!
Popchips were everywhere!  I went home with so many bags and they were also offered free cases to all attendees.  You know I will be cashing in on that offer!!!  Maybe I’ll even have some to give away to a lucky reader :)

Crunch Pak

There were reps from Sears & Fitstudio, New Balance, WP Rawl, Tasteful Selections, Popchips, Dr. Praeger’s, Cheeries, and Zumba Fitness to name a few.

Everyone had plenty of information and sample products to offer and it was fun to chat with them about their products and gather more swag!

Once my arms were full with new products to try, I found a seat for the afternoon panels.

The first panel discussed exploring the relationship between blogger and brand and involved The Laughing Cow Community Leaders.  One thing I learned here was if you are to have a relationship with a certain brand, make sure it is one that you stand behind!  You need to be honest with yourself and your readers, so don’t start a relationship with a brand that you don’t fully stand behind.

The keynote panel discussed taking Blogging from Hobby to Career.  I definitely learned a lot about the transition and how it happened for those bloggers that sat on the panel.

While I think that blogging for my career would be amazing, for right now having it is a hobby is just as satisfying and rewarding to me!  But don’t think that my mind wasn’t (and still isn’t) buzzing with ideas!

The rest of the evening included a social for the attendees but unfortunately I had to leave to attend another engagement.  From what I heard on Saturday morning though, everyone had a great time mingling with other bloggers and the social was a complete success.

Up next…Saturday at Fitbloggin’!
