It's Raining…but it's FRIDAY!

“It’s raining on Friday prom night, my hair is a mess….”  Any Grease fans out there?  If so that tune might ring a bell :)

Needless to say, the rain outside did not help me to want to get up this morning but regardless of the weather, it’s FRIDAY so I made it out of bed and headed to the gym.  Today’s workout consisted of a treadmill run followed by a quick full body cardio/strength circuit.

The treadmill workout was a mile pyramid totalling 5 miles (plus .5 with my warm up/cool down) that looked like this:

  • .25 mile warm up
  • 1 mile at 6.7 mph
  • 1 mile at 7.0 mph
  • 1 mile at 7.3 mph
  • 1 mile at 7.0 mph
  • 1 mile at 6.7 mph
  • .25 mile cool down

After my workout I was starving and couldn’t wait to get some food in my belly!  Breakfast was a typical go-to for me. Oatmeal and ground flax seed mixed with skim milk and microwaved for 2 minutes.  Once cooked, I stirred in splenda and half of a banana and then topped it off with a scoop of peanut butter…yumm!!

Banana PB Oatmeal

  • 26g oats
  • 2/3 cup skim milk
  • 1 tsp. ground flax seed
  • 1 scoop peanut butter
  • .5 banana
  • 1 packet splenda

Time to head to the office!  Hope you all have a fabulous Friday morning!!

Dang girl, what a great workout…and all BEFORE WORK?!!?! You’re an animal! That is awesome!

I try my best to get my workouts in before work because by the end of the day, if I don’t have a workout partner or some other motivation, I will normally look for any excuse to just head straight to the couch. Won’t lie though, it can be VERY tough to get in good workouts when its early….
