The Walk-Off and the Win

Just because I am too proud not to share this with all of my readers…

Yes, that’s right!

Brian not only pitched 1.1 scoreless innings in the Redhawks’ game last night but he also hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 12th inning to secure the win for the team and to add another win to his pitching record on the season!

I couldn’t be more proud of him and only wish that I had hung around past the 9th inning to actually see it happen in person!

When I left the game, it was tied 2-2 and I didn’t foresee the game going into too many extra innings or Brian even pitching at all in the game so you can imagine my surprise when I got back from a walk with Telli and saw that he had just pitching the last out in the 11th inning.

Fast forward through the rest of the 11th and the top of the 12th to bring Brian up with the bases loaded and one out. I knew the bullpen was low on numbers so I wasn’t surprised when they sent him to the plate, and I can honestly say, I had a feeling he was about to get the game winning RBI, I just didn’t think it would be a legitimate hit as well.  Someone proved me wrong though!  I wish I had seen the team tackle him at 1st base!!

What a wonderful night for Brian and a great win for the Redhawks!

Me = Proud PROUD fiancée!
